Reynold "Rainbow" W. Sjolander
ONALASKA - Reynold "Rainbow" W. Sjolander, 102, of Onalaska died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Onalaska Care Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill St., La Crosse. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. A complete obituary will be provided by Dickinson Family Funeral Home.
Diane R. Bierce
HOLMEN - Diane R. Bierce, 53, of Holmen died on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Rochester (Minn.) Methodist Hospital.
Diane was born Dec. 13, 1956, in Châteauroux, France, to Willliam and Jean (Weade) Parker. On May 1, 1981, Diane married David Bierce. She had worked at Century Telephone Co. for 20 years before retiring in 1996.
Diane will always be remembered for her drive and ambition to be active, and she enjoyed helping others. She was always proud of the accomplishments of her children and tried to take an active part in their achievements. Granddaughter Iris was cherished.
As a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Onalaska, Diane was proud to serve as a Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and enjoyed assisting the Shepherd’s Flock Preschool.
Although plagued by many medical conditions, Diane always pushed to be involved in many volunteer organizations. As a child’s advocate for CASA and foster parents, Diane tried to help those in need. Helping WAFER and other area food banks was important to her.
Diane will be sorely missed and is survived by her husband of 28 years, David of Holmen; children, Jeffrey Parker of St. Paul, David (Sarah) Bierce of Altoona, Iowa, and Anna Bierce of Anchorage, Alaska; her mother, Jean Parker of Onalaska; granddaughter, Iris of Holmen; two brothers, W. Allen (Janet) Parker of Waldorf, Md., and Mark (Sara) Parker of Oak Creek Wis., one sister, Patricia (Wesley) Friend of Germantown, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Onalaska. Pastor Donald Stein will officiate. Burial in Onalaska City Cemetery will be at a later date. Friends may call on the family at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska, 907 Sand Lake Road, on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
The family has asked that memorials be directed to the Shepherds Flock Pre-School program at church.

ONALASKA — Miriam A. Pierce, 87, of Onalaska died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Mulder Health Care Center, West Salem. Dickinson Family Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ricky “Ralph” L. Halverson
TOWN OF HOLLAND — Ricky “Ralph” L. Halverson, 58, of town of Holland passed away Dec. 30, 2009, at his home.
Ralph was born March 29, 1951, to Merton E. and Maxine P. (Cain) Halverson.
Ralph enjoyed the outdoors and solitude. A special thanks goes to his brother, Marc, for an early start on his bucket list and making sure he didn’t go homeless!
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Fowler; and his brothers, Mitchell and Marc Halverson.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary; and his infant brother, Christopher.
Per Ralph’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
