Wisconsin skiers and hikers will get a chance to venture out by candlelight next month.
The Department of Natural Resources will offer three candlelight skis and hikes on Saturday, Jan. 2, at Blue Mound State Park, Harrington Beach State Park and Mirror Lake State Park. People will be able to ski, snowshoe or hike trails lit with hundreds of candles. Bonfires and hot chocolate will follow.
The Jan. 2 events kick off 30 candlelight events at state properties on weekends throughout January and February. All the events are free, but participants will need state park vehicle admission stickers.
