A new survey shows that marijuana use among teenagers in Wisconsin is dropping.
Results released by the state Department of Public Instruction show that high school students who reported smoking marijuana at least once in their life has dropped from 43 percent in 2001 to 34 percent this year.
However, use was still up from 23 percent who had tried pot in 1993.
Those who said they smoked it within the past 30 days has also increased from 11 percent in 1993 to 19 percent this year. But rates have gradually declined from 25 percent in 2001.
The Youth Risk Behavior Survey is done every two years in Wisconsin. The latest state survey was given to more than 2,400 students in 57 public high schools earlier this spring.
