La Crosse County Circuit Judge Ramona Gonzalez announced Tuesday she intends to seek an open seat on the District 4 Wisconsin Court of Appeals in the spring elections.
Gonzalez, passed over this summer for two federal judgeships, has served on La Crosse County’s Circuit Court since 1995. Her term expires in August 2013.
Richland County Circuit Judge Edward E. Leineweber already has filed to replace retiring Judge Charles Dykman.
“The time has come to put my years of judicial experience in the trial court to work for the citizens of all 24 counties in District 4,” Gonzalez said in a release.
The district includes Adams, Clark, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, La Crosse, Lafayette, Marquette, Monroe, Portage, Richland, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, Waupaca, Waushara and Wood counties.

Gonzalez has made public statements against free speech and our right to keep and bear arms. That is why she was rejected for a federal judgeship. Voters need to know, you have NO RIGHTS in her eyes.
She made these statements in front of several witnesses at a meeting with the Wisconsin AG earlier this year. "
