When it came time in the service for the exchange of rings, the bride detached them from the pillow riding atop Elwood, who was dressed in a camouflage vest that matched those of the groomsmen. He also wore an orange boutonnière.
The groom wore a blaze orange vest and tie. His interest in hunting is so strong that it even became part of the special vows the couple exchanged.
Just before the vows, the bride produced her cell phone and called her grandparents, who were not able to travel from Florida, so that they could hear the wedding promises. The officiant held the phone while the couple held hands and exchanged their not-so-traditional vows — including mention of horses and hunting.
