The Bronze Award demonstrates that Scouts have made a promise to help others and improve their community and world. Before carrying out a Bronze Award project, the girls had three requirements to complete. They earned two badges that related to their project: the Girl Scout Sign of the Rainbow and the Junior Aide Patch.

Once these were done, they started on their community service project that must take approximately 15 hours to complete. The girls knew they wanted to do something for the Holmen Area Library because they said they wanted a new library and they all love books.
The girls decided to make bird houses, sell them and donate the money to the library. The girls did all the sanding, painting, staining and assembling of the bird houses and sold more than 80 bird houses.
On May 31, the Girl Scout troops presented a check for $1,000 to Deen Layland of the Holmen Area Library. As a reward for the hard work, the troops will take a trip to the Mall of America in June.
Troop leaders are Amy Olson and Lisa Paulson.
