The president of the Aquinas Athletic Booster Club was arrested Thursday for felony theft after he’s accused of stealing $3,500 from the club, according to La Crosse police reports.
Matthew Deshler, 49, of Onalaska, was released on a signature bond and will appear in La Crosse County Circuit Court at a later date.
The club’s treasurer grew suspicious when he found a check signed by Deshler in the amount of $1,200. Deshler said he wrote the check for cash and planned to reimburse the club, according to reports.
