A Holmen mother is accused of lying to police about buying alcohol for her teenage son before a high school dance.
The attorney for Dawn Haun, 43, entered a not guilty plea Tuesday in La Crosse County Circuit Court to a charge of obstructing an officer.
Haun’s son told officers she bought him and two friends a liter of UV Blue Vodka on Jan. 30 to drink at home before the dance at Holmen High School, according to the criminal complaint. He had a 0.08 percent blood-alcohol content.
Haun initially said she bought the vodka for herself, but later admitted to purchasing the alcohol for her son and his girlfriend at his request, according to the complaint. She was not home while the teens drank.
The case is set for a status conference July 7.
