Zetus Deamos reuniting for show at The Joint

The hard-rocking quartet Zetus Deamos will reunite for an 8 p.m. show Saturday at The Joint, 324 Jay St. The rockers have not performed together since appearing at Riverfest in La Crosse last July.

Zetus Deamos consists of La Crescent native Mike Ganrude on lead guitar and vocals, Erik Williams on lead vocals/guitar, Zac Barbieur on drums and bass player Jake Barbieur, all natives of West Salem. The band formed in late 2005 and won several Battle of the Band competitions that led to sharing the bill with Buckcherry, Hellyeah, Black Label Society, Chevelle, Black Stone Cherry, Airbourne and Billy Idol. The band released its debut EP “Same Old Story” in 2006 and followed that up with the full-length CD “With A Vengeance” in 2007.

Band members took a break last summer to pursue school and career. Williams is a junior at the University of Minnesota, Ganrude is pursuing a career in music as a freshman at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Jake Barbieur studied at UW-Milwaukee and has started his own computer business, and Zac Barbieur is a sophomore at West Salem High School.

Thundersnake will open the show. Admission is $3. For more information, call The Joint at (608) 785-6468.
