Church youths offer holiday child care
A child-care program by the Bridge of Life Lutheran Church youth group and parents will be offered on Saturday Dec. 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parents can drop their children off at the church in the Holmen Square mall for a day of crafts, games, music and snacks while they Christmas shop or take care of other pressing matters.
The cost is $5 per hour for one child, $7 per hour for two children and $8 per hour for three children.
Gift wrapping also will be available.

Onalaska Methodist sets Advent event
The Onalaska United Methodist Church will hold an Advent Service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church, which is at 212 Fourth Ave. N. All are welcome to come to begin Advent by hearing the scriptures and singing the carols of the season. The church choir will also participate in the service.
Holmen Lutheran to host divorce talk
“Divorce Care: Surviving the Holidays” is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a separation or divorce. The seminar will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. at Holmen Lutheran Church.
The seminar will feature practical suggestions, guidance and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, experts in divorce-related care and people who have experienced the holidays after separation or divorce.
Topics to be discussed include “Why the Holidays are Tough,” “What Emotions to Expect, “How to Plan and Prepare,” “How to Handle Uncomfortable Situations” and “Using the Holidays to Help you Heal.”

Women’s ministry plans Advent event
New Image Women’s Ministries will hold its annual Advent Celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 9:30 a.m. and at 7 p.m. at Christ Is Lord Church, 1269 Hwy. PH, Onalaska.
This year’s theme is “Christmas Lights” and the program will feature the New Image Players and an inspirational message and music. A lunch will be served at the morning event; dessert will be served following the evening program.
